Compared to last week: Trade activity and demand were moderate to good.
Retail hay demand was good.
Export and Dairy hay demand was moderate to good.
According to the NASS report on November 29, 2022, in the Sacramento 
Valley, the last of winter wheat planting continued.
Groundwork was almost complete.
In Stanislaus County, most of the corn harvest was complete.
Winter wheat and oats continued to emerge.
Sudan grass, Alfalfa hay, and alfalfa silage were harvested.
Manure was applied to harvested fields in preparation for winter crops.
Oats were sprayed for weeds.
In Tulare County, cotton picking was almost complete and cotton modules 
were moved to gins.
Corn and sorghum silage harvest was winding down with only a few fields 
remaining to be chopped.
Harvested silage fields were fertilized and tilled.
Winter forage crops such as, wheat, oats, barley, and triticale were planted.
Winter grain fields varied from just starting to germinate to fields 
that had crops a few inches tall.
Alfalfa fields were cut and harvested for haylage.
The next available hay report will be Friday, December 09, 2022.
